TEA is seeking applicants for IPD Coordinator.

TEA is seeking applicants for the position of Instruction and Professional Development
Coordinator. The person employed as IPD coordinator must maintain a residence in the Nashville area.

All applicants should have had successful teaching experience, direct experience in
program development and delivery, the ability to coordinate multiple tasks, the ability to
work harmoniously with other professionals and a history of giving attention to details.
Preference will be given to candidates with elementary school teaching experience and
an understanding of best practices in student testing and use of related data in instruction.
An understanding of teacher evaluation issues, direct experience in the development and
recommendation of organizational policy and positions, and in dealing with a variety of
education related issues, organizations and agencies are also preferred.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: developing and conducting
instruction-related workshops and seminars at the local and state levels; assisting local
affiliates in the planning and implementation of workshops, conferences, and inservice
programs in the areas of instructional innovation, teacher evaluation and educational
issues; serving as liaison between education related agencies and the TEA; providing the
TEA staff and membership with current information on teacher certification, instructional
and educational issues, and interpretation of rules and regulations related to instructional
concerns.

All applicants must have teaching and association experience and at least a bachelor’s
degree. A master’s degree is preferred. A strong background and experience in
instruction and a variety of association activities is important.
