The number one priority right now is to take care of you and your family’s health. Please do not pressure yourself or feel pressured to take actions that may put your health in danger. Your association has your back. Check out TEA’s FAQ. Call or email your building rep, or your local president.

As stated in previous FAQs, TEA maintains that a teacher should not be placed in the position of
having to choose between CDC emergency guidance and a directive from their District
regarding physically reporting to work.
If a few, outlying Districts choose to disregard CDC safety guidance and require teachers to
report to their buildings, a teacher should consider that a directive from their District. Failure
to follow a directive could result in the teacher being charged as insubordinate. Any member
who refuses to follow such directive and is charged with insubordination will be zealously
represented by TEA’s legal staff.
Moreover, any member who has received a directive to report should immediately contact
their UniServ Coordinator.

Association Elections

Voting for TEA RA and local offices that normally take place at your school will be done electronically this year. It is very important that we have your correct (preferably personal) email address by 5 p.m. on April 8th in order to receive a ballot. If you’re interested in running for local office or for TEA RA delegate, please return the nomination form to president.bcea@gmail.com by 5 p.m. on April 8th. The nomination form asks for signatures which is not possible at this time; just fill out the rest of the form and return it.

-Rebecca Dickenson, BCEA President
